Is he colonized, did we fully get rid if it 3 weeks ago, or with everyone sick did we give it back to him. The other question is could it be aspiration pneumonia - ask me in the summer when no one else is sick and hflu is not showing up on his panel. They started a 5 day IV course yesterday (hoping to convert to PO soon).
We came into the PICU Tuesday afternoon and he was on 6 liters. Yesterday he did 4 hours on trach collar and Today we started him early. Last night I agreed to keeping the PS on the vent to let him rest well he is sick.
Thankfully again I was on my guard. We had seen his PCP Saturday and talked Sat.Were trying things/meds to keep him home - didn't work. About how he never got back to baseline and how he started to get worse when the augmention stopped.
Waiting on Saturday rounds to find out if there is a thought of when we might go home.
